School closures due to the coronavirus outbreak mean that millions of parents are now having to take on a new big role: that of a teacher. This transition is proving challenging for many parents, especially as they try to juggle between work, house duties, and now teaching their children.

Homeschooling can be difficult as kids find it harder to concentrate or don’t take the work as seriously.

Have a read of these tips on how to homeschool your children successfully. It will cover everything you need to know.

Stick To A Timetable

It helps to set a schedule so that your child doesn’t feel directionless. (Times are already hectic as they are!)

Try to stick to their normal preschool routine. Wake them up at a set time, make them breakfast, and get them dressed. Many teachers and parents find their children focus much better in the mornings.

Find or create a space where the child/ children can work and focus well. It could be the kitchen table, the sitting room or bedroom. Wherever there are least distractions may be the best option.

Create a timetable. Start with one subject for an hour, give them a break. Then do another subject. This makes it feel a bit more like a school routine.

Consider Getting an Online Tutor

The fact is, homeschooling is tough for parents.
